Ashbourne Linear Park
Ashbourne Linear Park in Ireland had it’s grand opening last week following work to make a brand new upgraded playground.
The new multi-age play are is for toddlers, young and older children and has an amphi-theatre and mural wall, new footpaths, a wetland habitat area and associated landscaping and planting works. The history of the area is captured on signage boards, following the discovery of the ruins of Killegland Castle during archaeological investigations of the site. The park will be linked to Ashbourne town centre by a footbridge.
Around the play equipment CONICA rubber mulch safety surfacing has been installed by Soft Surfaces IE. A blend of harvest beige and mahogany red was used for the largest areas, in keeping with the play areas theme. This choice for surfacing gives a higher level of protection for any falls or trips.
Outdoor wet pour
CONICA wet pour safety surfacing is designed to provide water permeable, decorative, durable and safe surfaces for outdoor play areas.
Wet pour surfacing is typically installed using two layers; a base layer of SBR recycled tyre rubber granule and a top layer of coloured EPDM granules. Both will be bound using a flexible, single part moisture curing polyurethane binder.
