Fire rated wet pour surfacing

How a product reacts to fire is a key consideration in building design. The less a product reacts, the more time that will be available to evacuate a building and fight the fire, with the ultimate aim being to prevent injury and loss of life.

Wet pour surfacing has long been recognised as the best solution for play area safety surfacing. In the past, wet pour solutions haven’t been able to offer the fire performance required to allow for widespread indoor use. However, CONICA’s new fired rated wet pour achieves class Bfl-s1 making it ideal for indoor commercial and residential use.

As well as being flame retardant, the s1 rating means the product generates a limited quantity of smoke. This is a critical safety factor as smoke is more often a bigger issue than flames.
