Insitu shockpads are widely used as the impact absorbing layer for athletics tracks, MUGAS and artificial turf pitches.

The shockpad is absolutely critical to the performance of the finished sports surface but, in many cases, the choice of materials is made based on price alone. To ensure performance and longevity, it is essential to use components that are fully tested and, in the case of the binder, designed specifically for shockpad installation. General rubber crumb binders of the type used for wet pour safety surfacing are unlikely to offer sufficient properties to deliver the long term durability required.
